TeamDME! Uses color and font style to let the user know what functions are available at certain points of the program.
Read-Only |
Fields which have a green background are read-only fields. They cannot be changed. As you press the tab button to move from field to field, they will be automatically skipped. If you click on them specifically, to edit or drop-down a list, you will not be able to save any changes. This does not mean that you cannot effect a change in the form indirectly. Example: The physician “Name” field at the top of the form is a read-only field. But you can effect a change in it by changing the Last and First name fields. |
Required |
Fields which have a cyan (blue/green) background and/or a bold field name are required fields. This means that if you want to save a Physician record in this example, you must enter some value in this field. Tip: Some required fields like the Physician ID are automatically added by the program, so you will not have to add it yourself. But it is required, so you cannot delete the Physician ID the program creates, so we indicate it as a required field. |
Editable |
Fields which have a white background are editable fields. This means that if you can enter some value in this field, but it is not required. |
