The Find dialog allows the user to search for a particular piece or fragment of data.
We’ll use the Physician Grid to illustrate the concept. Lets’ find a physician by selecting Filter, Find from the menu or clicking the Find button. You will then see the Find dialog.

Enter the value you want to search for. |
Search Type |
Enter how you want to search for the value you are looking for. Exact Match: The value must be exactly what you are looking for (no more or less). ‘Newburg’ = ‘Newburg’ Partial Match at Beginning: The beginning of the value must match, but more is acceptable. ‘Newburg’ = ‘Newburgton’ Partial Match Anywhere: The value can match anywhere within the field. Ex: ‘Newburg’ = ‘HollyNewburgville’ |
Case-sensitive |
Check to find using a case-sensitive search. This means that the text must match exactly, including upper and/or lower case characters. Example: An exact Match Search for “PAST” with case-sensitive unchecked, matches “PAST”, “Past” and “past”. Example: An exact Match Search for "PAST" with case-sensitive checked, will on match "PAST". |
