Incremental Search |
When any list is initially displayed, the Incremental Search box will have focus. This is because we expect the first thing you will normally do is search for an existing item, a Physician in this case, to select it or to see that it does not exist prior to adding a new one. To use the Incremental Search, simply place you cursor in the Incremental Search box labeled “Search For” and begin typing the item you want to search for. As you type, the grid will begin to display matches close to your text. As your search brings you close to the desired Physician, you can simply click on it in the grid to move to it. This of course assumes that you want to search on the default order for the table, in the case of the Physician grid, this would be the Physician ID column. If you want to search on something else you will need to select it by clicking on a Title button. |
Title Buttons |
This displays the contents of a column as well as giving you the ability to change the sort order of the dataset. Example: You receive a Medicaid EOB (Explanation of Benefit) statement in the mail with a physician’s name blurred by moisture, but the Medicaid ID is clearly visible. Simply click on the Title button labeled “Medicaid ID” and the grid will sort in Medicaid ID order. Click on the Incremental Search box and enter the physician’s ID number and the grid will find the mystery physician. Example: If you wanted to see where your physician is located by city, you would click on the Title button labeled “City”. The grid sorts in City order and you can move up and down in the grid reviewing where your physicians are located. |
Current Index Indicator |
This graphic appears within the column Title button and shows the user how the grid is currently sorted. As you click on a new Title button, the Current Index Indicator will move to the clicked column. |
Go Button (Ctrl-Go) |
If you are using the program in /WAN mode, you will see a button to the right of the Incremental Search text field. In this mode, the system will not retrieve any records initially showing a blank list. Simply enter what you are searching for and press Ctrl-G. This will retrieve only the records you requested. |
