Filters, Getting Fancy

frmqueryedit2.jpg

Sometimes, a simple condition is not sufficient to answer the question you are searching for. You may need to work with two or more conditions and join them in different ways. The following figure illustrates a bracket condition. The condition in English is “Show all physicians who are General Practitioners who reside in either KY or TN”.

To add a condition bracket:

Step 1 Click on the number bubble, click on “Open new bracket (after current)”. You can then add new conditions within the bracket.

To move a condition inside/outside of an existing bracket:

Step 1 Select the condition you want to move by clicking on the number bubble associated with the condition.
Step 2 Press Ctrl-Right to move the condition within the above condition bracket. Or, press Ctrl-Left to move the condition outside the condition bracket by pressing Ctrl-Left.

Tip: To see the results of your work in the SQL Editor, click on the SQL tab.

Tip: To see the results of your work in English, click on the English tab.
