Grids, Functions, New Wizard

Many of the lists give you the ability to enter an item in one of two different ways; directly via New or indirectly via New Wizard. New Wizard is designed to assist the new user who is not completely comfortable with adding a new item by providing additional explanation and smaller amounts of information on each screen.

We’ll use the New Physician Wizard to illustrate the concept. Lets’ add a new physician by selecting Edit, New Wizard from the menu or clicking the Wizard button btnnavwizard.gif.

You will then see the introduction page and then a blank Physician Wizard form.

Here you will enter the same information you would using the New Physician form, but will have the benefit of extra explanation and instruction as you continue. Each step is explained in detail.

As you finish each page, click the Next button or press Alt+N. If you want to return to a prior page, click the Back button or press Alt+B.

Once you complete the Physician Wizard, the Next button will change to Finish. Simply click Finish or Alt+F to save the physician.

Tip: The wizard will be most helpful to new users unfamiliar with the program. The smaller amount of information displayed on each screen and additional explanation provide the desired feedback for new users to confirm they are entering the correct information.

Tip: As the user gains confidence in his/her abilities, they will naturally begin to use the New form instead of the New Wizard, as New is faster and displays more information on a single form.
