Grids, Functions Simplified

frmphysicianspecialtylistsimple.jpg

Basic Grid Functions are similar to the Basic Grid as the same buttons and shortcuts are available, but there is no menu, therefore no menu keys. However there are two new buttons; Post and Cancel.

Edit Buttons, Shortcut Keys: You can add, delete and edit a record by clicking a button or pressing a shortcut key:

Add, Delete or Edit Record, Refresh Grid

See Basic Grid Functions.

Post/Save Record

Saves changes to the current record. This button is only available when the record is in Insert or Edit mode.

Cancel Record

Cancels changes to the current record and refreshes it to the original values. This button is only available when the record is in Insert or Edit mode.

Dataset State Indicator

This component is not unique to the Simple Grid, but here is where it really becomes useful. It is designed to visually show the user what state or mode the current record is in. The following table shows the different modes.
