If you bill a simple daily rental rate for an item, the system does most of the work for you, as illustrated following:
In the figure above, the item IRC5LX has been placed with a customer. The system has automatically entered a DOS date range of 14 days (2/12-2/25), quantity is one (1), the price has been calculated at the number of days (14) times the daily rate ($5.55) or 14 * $5.55 = $77.70, and the days/units has been set to 14.
Notes: If the system sees a TOS=18 and a Package Code of “DY”, it begins the daily rental processing.
Now, that’s really all there is to the magic of daily rental processing, but I’m sure you have a lot more questions, so let’s look at some further examples, and how to make it work for you.
